- SPERRY Series 90 (nee RCA Spectra) KERMIT
-
- KERMIT only runs as a server since the SPERRY 90/60 can not initiate use of an
- RTIO line other than the terminal line itself. Thus when you run the program,
- it comes up in SERVER mode and awaits commands from your computer. It accepts
- no interactive commands, just escape to to your computer's command mode and
- initiate a command. Implemented commands are: GET, SEND, and BYE.
-
- The MCC tables and translation modules must be modified in the system. This is
- necessary to ensure that all the characters in the printable ASCII range and
- the ^A have values within the EBCDIC representation (see ATOE table). We did
- not find this a problem with any other communications mode which we use on our
- SPERRY.
